As a graduate assistant, Ethan has taught microbiology laboratories—an experience that has become one of the most rewarding and formative parts of his academic career. Working with undergraduate students by introducing core laboratory techniques, helping them navigate experimental challenges, and watching them develop confidence in their own scientific reasoning has reinforced how deeply he values mentorship and collaborative learning. A central part of his teaching style involves asking guiding questions that encourage students to think critically and work through problems independently, helping them build both confidence and scientific intuition. These moments in the classroom have fostered in him a deep appreciation for the student‑instructor relationship and the joy that comes from mentoring others as they discover their place in the scientific community.
